Denver, Colorado, is the kind of city that I can visit over and over again and still find new places to see and new adventures to discover.
This trip to Denver took me some great restaurants, a cool neighborhood and into the beautiful Red Rocks Park & Amphitheatre. Here’s a little run down of my time in Denver.
The Train Station
I started my trip at Denver Union Station. This train station is way different from the ones I’m used to back home. For starters, it’s so clean! It also has many really great restaurants with world-class chefs creating incredible dishes. There are also coffee shops, bars and a boutique hotel. The icing on the cake is that you can get there directly by train from Denver International Airport. Denver Union Station is not just a place you go to catch a train – it’s a really cool meeting spot for anyone looking for great food, good drinks and friendly people.

Sunrise at Red Rocks
After a delicious beer at the Terminal Bar and some wonderfully fresh seafood at Stoic & Genuine, I ambled happily back to my hotel for a good night’s sleep. In the morning, I drove up to the Red Rocks Park and Amphitheatre, where the sun was just coming up over the mountains. The amphitheater is built naturally out of the rocks and has hosted some of the biggest names in entertainment. After a tour of the Visitor Center and Music Hall of Fame, I began a lovely hike on one of the many trails that run through Red Rocks Park. It was truly beautiful and incredibly peaceful, even though we were only about 20 minutes from bustling downtown Denver.

Street Art in RiNo
There are several districts that make up the wonderful city of Denver. I went to check out the RiNo (River North) neighborhood, which is just north of downtown. The one thing I’d been told about RiNo was that it features fabulous street art. So I rented a pedicab (a first for me) and sat back to enjoy the ride. Every turn we made was met with piece after piece of amazing artwork – truly some of the most incredible street art I’ve ever seen. The pedicab tour was followed by a beer at Ratio Beerworks, a hip brewery with some very tasty craft beers. After drifting in and out of the cool shops, I was once again hungry. I popped into a restaurant called Work and Class and ordered several appetizers, all of which were wonderful. After having my fill of delicious food, I met up with a few acquaintances in RiNo, where we finished off the day at another pub, The Matchbox, serving $3 dollar pints – just another reason why I love Denver!
From the incredible dining to the scenic outdoor beauty, there is so much to see and do in Denver, Colorado – and I’ve only just scratched the surface!
