Explore south Florida's scenic wetlands in a thrilling way
Located about 80 kilometers southwest of Miami, Florida, Everglades National Park encompasses one of the most diverse ecosystems in the United States. The scenic estuaries stretch as far as the eye can see, with slender sawgrass waving in the breeze and peaceful mangrove forests housing a variety of unique creatures, including massive American alligators.
Tigertail Airboat Tours
One of the best ways to experience the Everglades is to hop on an airboat and tour the many rivers, streams and small islands. We joined Humberto Jimenez, manager of Tigertail Airboat Tours, based in Homestead (about 15 kilometers from the park). We learned about the conservation efforts of the local wildlife and their habitat while speeding through the marshes.
