The Palm Beaches: Nightlife and Dining in Florida

By Jessica Fox

The Palm Beaches, Florida, a paradise on the Atlantic coast, just an hour north of Miami, has all the ingredients for a memorable vacation. Miles of pristine beaches, bustling streets lined with exclusive boutiques and trendy restaurants, bars and nightclubs, an exciting nightlife and much more. All of this makes The Palm Beaches perfect for people who love urban adventures and fun. It’s the best way to experience Florida.

Clematis Street and CityPlace: Fun Both Day and Night

If your ideal outing is shopping, dining and drinking at the “in” places, your first stop should be Clematis Street.

The historic heart of Downtown West Palm Beach’s Arts and Entertainment District, Clematis Street has a bit of everything. Landmarks adorn this beautiful street, inviting you to linger. Browse in the colorful boutiques, and enjoy a meal at one of the delicious restaurants. Thursday nights on Clematis Street are a lot of fun as a street party takes over, with music, food and dancing.

Near Clematis Street you’ll find CityPlace, another of my favorite places because it has everything. It reminds me of a European plaza. Hundreds of private residences, beautiful water fountains, dozens of upscale shops and boutiques, a performing arts center, 20 movie theatres and many restaurants, bars and outdoor cafés create the perfect place to spend a spectacular day or night.

Atlantic Avenue in Delray Beach: Vibrant and Fantastic

Delray Beach was recently named Most Fun Small Town in America by USA Today. When you visit, you will find out why. Lose yourself at the famous Atlantic Avenue. It’s ideal for outdoor dining, a coffee break at a sidewalk café and dancing the night away at one of the many popular bars. People are truly warm and accommodating; no wonder Delray Beach is also known as the Sociable City.

The Glamorous HMF Bar at The Breakers Hotel

I dressed in my summer finest to visit one of the best and most elegant hotels in America: The Breakers Palm Beach. This dignified and historic hotel is home to the beautiful HMF Bar, named for Henry Morrison Flagler, the hotel’s founder and the founder of Palm Beach itself. This glamorous bar is built entirely in a timeless Italian Renaissance style – look at the ceiling for ornate and beautiful details. With unique cocktails and food in hand, I enjoyed a stylish atmosphere that’s reminiscent of Palm Beach’s glamorous past.

Guanabanas: Tropical Dining and Nightlife

I can only describe Guanabanas restaurant in Jupiter as if it were an island. Surrounded by lush vegetation, this water's-edge restaurant bar is 100 percent outdoors. Guanabanas’ focus is cooking with fresh and local ingredients – including seafood – that comes only from Florida. The cocktails are original, and Guanabanas has no competition when it comes to live music. The day I was having dinner, I was fortunate to be served by the chef, who explained to me how careful they are with the menu. Their delicious salad with bacon, avocado and mango, the restaurant’s most popular, is simply delicious. When it comes to dining and nightlife, no one does it quite like The Palm Beaches. This is one Florida destination that you can’t miss!
