Born in Manila, Philippines, Cristeta “Cris” Comerford now works in the most famous house in the United States. In 2005, she became the first woman and first minority to hold the position of executive chef at the White House. Her culinary resume is impressive, including 26 years of experience at fine-dining restaurants in Washington, DC, Chicago, Illinois, and Napa Valley, California, as well as in Austria and France. Comerford’s many responsibilities include designing and executing menus for state dinners, social events and holiday functions.
